In 1995 I was called by the Goodman Theater in Chicago (where I lived) to do a small audio bit for a new play by black playwright August Wilson. The Play was "7 Guitars" and one of the scenes was a group of black gentlemen gathered around a radio listening to a re-match of the the Joe Louis/Billy Conn Championship boxing match in 1946.  Louis had lost the title to Conn earlier. The problem was....there was no recording of the original radio broadcast....but they wrote a script and asked if I would re-create that broadcast.
